It’s All Fun and Games

Dear Readers,

It’s been a long time.  You must be wondering if I have forsaken you.  No, I have not.  I have not forgotten you either.

The times, they’ve been a changing.  There were some health issues, some family issues.  These have straightened themselves out for the most part.  Then came major life changes.

Most recently, as I am sure you know, chaos came to Turkey.  Yes, the protests of the people.  My views of that coming soon.

Through it all, I have continued to answer emails from my readers.  I thank you for your questions and your comments — even though I have been lax about posting comments as well.

So, to get back to blogging, which I warn will not be as often as before, I leave you with a repost of the below recipe.  It’s zucchini time again and this is a groovy way to enjoy the fresh veggie!  Feta and dill are added, among other yummy things.  I love them.

Kabak Mucveri – Fried Zucchini Fritters

I recently made the same recipe, cut out one egg, and baked it for a little more healthy version.  My friend over at Far From the Sticks uses a similar recipe and bakes it like a casserole to save time.  Here is a link to the recipe she uses:  http://www.ilkeskitchen.com/2012/04/zucchini-bake-firin-mucver/.  I will spend some time perusing that blog too when I get time.  “Ilke’s Kitchen – A Turkish girl cooking it up in the American South!”  Gotta love that name!

Enjoy!

  4. Thanks for checking in, and I’m glad you’re back! We’re Stateside right now, and have been glued to the news watching what’s unfolding in Turkey. I’ve thought of you living in the district where you live and wondering how you were being affected. I’m looking forward to hearing your thoughts on it. Regardless, I’m glad you’re back to blogging!
