Alan, I actually thought of you and J while walking there. Any thoughts on the trees with the huge balls in them? It’s like that year after year. The balls are different from the trees. Tree leaves are a light greyish green and slim. The leaves on those balls are dark shiny green, still oblong but not as thin as the others. There are at least 4 or 5 trees like that.
they look like mistletoe to me – it is parasitic an quite a few different trees

Very unlike my idea of Ankara, apart from around the ODTU where we used to walk, but I hear that is now bulldozed.
It’s not bulldozed! It is ODTU’s campus. I don’t feel like I am in the city at all when I am there.
So glad it’s still there.
