Last week, my friend Marlene sent out an email informing fellow expats that The Chocolate Art would have Christmas chocolates available on December 8th. Marlene is a great friend to have – she knows all you need to know as an expat in town. Although we have mostly been “virtual friends,” we finally met this year. And I have to say, sometimes, it’s like we are twins who think the same things at the same time.
The very day Marlene sent the email, I had been to The Chocolate Art. Having walked by many times, I finally set foot in the door and did not want to leave! I had also asked about Christmas chocolates, and they also told me December 8th. But I’m a bit more skeptical in Turkey than I normally would be. When someone tells me they will have an item for sale on a certain date, I just walk away thinking, “yeah, right.”
Today, I was pleasantly surprised. I went back for Christmas chocolates and this is what I found:
Yummy, right? I tasted a few and they were delicious. So I bought a few. They also have lovely chocolate and white chocolate Santas and chocolate tree ornaments.
The chocolates are imported from Belgium. I am told they are organic, are not to be refrigerated, and need to be eaten in 21 days. I have no problem with that!
The chocolates are pricey, but reasonable for what they are. I loved the tree shaped advent calendar, built with blocks, photos of dogs on the calendar, and a scrumptious chocolate behind each door. The price on that has been discounted since we are only 15 days from Christmas.
Get ’em while the gettin’s good.

The advantage of living in a city – great chocolate.
I bet they ship! If not, I will!
Sod the calories, cholestorol and all the other stuff – I’m dribbling!
Oh god, how did I miss this?!
