Red Cabbage Salad with Blue Cheese, Golden Raisins, and Walnuts

I have listed this recipe under my Turkish recipes although it is not actually Turkish.  But red cabbage is in season here now.  (In Turkey, it’s rare to find a veggie or fruit that is not in season.)  And I needed something different!  I was tired of making the same old coleslaw with mayonnaise.  After scouring the internet I found this salad.  It was just perfect!  It is light and yet has a bold mix of flavors!  With a delicate balance of red cabbage, gorgonzola cheese, golden raisins, balsamic vinegar and olive oil, all of the ingredients are very easy to find, whether in the States or in Turkey.  Give it a try.  I promise you will like it!
